We are proud to announce that Kelly Bush, President and Principal Investigator of ERCI, has been appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture as a representative on the North Mt. Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest Resource Advisory Committee (RAC). The Mt. Baker–Snoqualmie RAC receives funding through the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act, which compensates communities for lost tax revenue due to large federal lands within their boundaries. RAC funding is intended to improve the health of local watersheds and ecosystems as well as protect communities and support local economies. RAC projects often consist of repairing trails and roads, salmon habitat restoration and removal of noxious weeds.
Kelly will be working with the committee to select restoration projects to receive RAC funding. She is very pleased to be able to serve our community and help restore and protect our natural resources.
